A Carbon Credit Research Challenge for Macquarie University Business Students
Adina Labs is working with a student research team from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, on a research challenge drawn from one of the ventures in our ecosystem, a verification-first carbon credit exchange. The students are part of a final-year International Business unit, and the project is now underway, running through the second half of 2026.
The brief we have set them is a genuine strategic question rather than a classroom exercise. Voluntary carbon markets operate under very different rules from one country to the next, and the quality of available credits varies just as widely. We have asked the team to research which international markets a verification-first exchange should enter first, and in what sequence, weighing where high-quality credits can be sourced, where the strongest early demand sits, and how carbon and digital-asset regulations differ across regions.
For us, the value is independent, well-researched thinking on a market-entry question we will eventually need to answer. For the students, it is the chance to work on a live commercial problem for a real company, with direct access to our team throughout the semester. It is the kind of applied, real-world research that a strong international business program is built to produce, and we are glad to support it.
